Fantastic Four Review

WALRUS SCORE: B-

Fantastic Four leans more into sci-fi than traditional superhero fare—and that actually works in its favor. Galactus is genuinely menacing, and the core four are so charming and watchable that I found myself wishing this was a series instead of a movie, just to spend more time with them.

The decision to make the Silver Surfer a woman felt organic and thoughtful, not like a forced “gender swap.” Pedro Pascal is great as Mr. Fantastic—his powers are a little awkward in live-action, but his performance grounds it. Ebon Moss-Bachrach steals the show as The Thing, bringing surprising warmth (and yes, the rock beard works).

The downside? The story never digs much deeper than surface-level spectacle, and the plot feels a bit undercooked. Still, it’s a fun ride—I just wish there was more substance beneath the style.
