And if you’ve actually seen Starship Troopers, you probably understand why that particular choice is attracting attention.
Paul Verhoeven’s 1997 cult classic gave us giant alien bugs, exploding bodies, ridiculously attractive soldiers and some of the most aggressively militaristic uniforms ever put on film.
But the movie wasn’t simply cheering that world on.
It was making fun of it.
Verhoeven deliberately used propaganda, authoritarian imagery and Nazi-influenced costumes to satirize fascism, militarism and a society blindly marching into war.
