“IT: Welcome to Derry” is a brilliant series. Yes, it’s scary, unsettling, and at times downright terrifying, but what truly sets it apart is how smart it is. The storytelling seamlessly connects the series to the original book and films while expanding the Pennywise mythos with a rich, compelling backstory. Even more impressive, it weaves in subtle connections to other Stephen King works in ways that feel organic, clever, and genuinely unexpected.

The series doesn’t overstay its welcome or drag itself out across multiple seasons while audiences wait to see if it gets renewed.

Instead, this chapter tells a complete, satisfying story in just eight episodes. And if you can move past the scares, the gore, and the horror, you’ll discover something deeper: a story about friendship, the realities of racism in the 1960s, love, loss, and surprisingly… tenderness.

There’s a lot to chew on in “Welcome to Derry”, and I savored every single bite.
