The first images for Masters of the Universe: Revelation have been revealed, finally giving fans a look at He-Man, Skeletor, and the rest of the crew returning to action. Kevin Smith is leading the new animated series, which is targeted at older fans of the original cartoon and picks up the story directly after it ended. Revelation is one of two Masters of the Universe projects currently in development at Netflix, with a CGI revival series aimed at younger audiences also in the works.
Masters of the Universe: Revelation has been highly anticipated for its promise of continuing the original story with older fans in mind. The show stars an ensemble voice cast including Chris Wood as He-Man, Mark Hamill as Skeletor, Lena Headey as Evil-Lyn, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Teela, Henry Rollins as Tri-Clops, Phil LaMarr as He-Ro, Kevin Michael Richardson as Beast Man, and Kevin Conroy as Mer-Man. Until now, very little of the show has been revealed to the public, though Kevin Smith has been relatively consistent with updates.
That drought is over now, as Netflix has released a series of first-look images of Masters of the Universe: Revelation. The show is animated by Powerhouse Studios, which has previously worked on the streamer’s critically acclaimed Castlevania adaptation. The animation style of Revelation understandably looks very similar to Castlevania, which should be great news for fans. Classic characters like He-Man and Skeletor look better than ever, and their colorful fantasy world is stunning in the stills seen so far.
